The history of this Barcelona-based company begins in at the end of the 19th century when Sardà family made high-quality lace mantillas. One of the company’s customers was Jackie Kennedy who wore a Sardà mantilla to visit the Vatican in the 1960s. When it was no longer compulsory to wear a mantilla to church, Andrés, the son of Sardà’s founder decided to begin using the company’s expertise in lace-making into the production of the exquisite lingerie for which they are famed today. In the ’70s, Andrés expanded the collection to begin producing swimwear, experimenting with new fabrics such as Lycra® The company has become world-famous for producing gorgeous silk and colourful lingerie and swimwear. Andres’ daughter has taken over as Creative Director of a brand that has been worn by artistes such as Lady Gaga and Shakira
